Personal Statement
Carol Ross
Art Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Supervisor
Being supported to feel heard, understood and make sense of feelings, experience and behaviour can decrease symptoms, improve mood, self-esteem and ways of coping. Art therapy and counselling can enable people of all ages and ability to express and explore things it’s difficult to talk about or express in words.
I work in an integrative, flexible way so I can be responsive to the needs of my clients, provide what they can best make use of and support them to feel empowered. The breadth of my experience and trainings enables me to draw from a wide range of approaches (including inter-personal, psychodynamic, person centred, cognitive, mentalisation, psycho-education…).
I’ve worked in a range of settings (including NHS Mental Health, in schools setting up therapeutic services, voluntary sector, and private practice) with adults, young people and children with a wide range of mental health challenges that affect their well-being. I also work as a Clinical Supervisor for therapists and with professionals in various roles.”
