Personal Statement

Hannah Turner
Art Psychotherapist

Hello I’m Hannah, I work with both Adults and children using a psychodynamic approach. The way I work is led by you, I like to see it as you, taking me, on a journey and at some difficult points, I can help you navigate.

I have worked in a Multi-disciplinary team in a large London local authority for many years. Working with children and young people who are fostered and adopted, their families, foster carers, social workers and supporting schools therapeutically.

I am a trained youth worker and have enjoyed working with young people and supporting the transition into adulthood, through targeted programmes and informal education. Always pulling out the odd art material where I could.

Art has been a focus in my personal life enjoying galleries, exhibitions and more. Most of my education and employment have been Art centred. It’s something I myself have used Art to help myself during difficult times and is something I knew worked when nothing else seemed to. This was the beginning of my interest in Art Psychotherapy.

I run several groups and workshops each year focusing on; mental health and related conditions, theories and therapeutic approaches, including art therapy groups and how to use art as a wellbeing tool.
