Have you ever felt that words alone can’t fully capture what you’re experiencing? Sometimes we carry emotions that are hard to untangle or find ourselves stuck in patterns that no longer serve us. Art psychotherapy offers another way forward—combining creative expression and talking to explore emotions, relationships, and life challenges in a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space.
My approach is gentle, creative, and integrative, grounded in compassion and authenticity. Together, we can explore, reflect, and heal—using a picture, an object, or words to connect with your inner world, gain insight, and move toward growth and change.
About Me:
Hello! My name is Angel, and I am a multicultural art psychotherapist registered with the HCPC and a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). My background in visual arts and
clinical experience across the NHS, schools, community, and charity settings have shaped my
inclusive, open-minded, and person-centred practice.
I specialise in a psychodynamic approach, integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic
practices to support emotional healing, self-awareness, and personal growth. I offer individual and
group therapy for children, young people, parents, and adults who wish to explore emotions,
relationships, and life challenges at their own pace. My work supports clients navigating trauma,
anxiety, depression, loss, and life transitions, helping to gently shift patterns that feel deeply rooted
towards more freedom, confidence, and self-awareness. I also facilitate art and wellbeing groups for East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) and Hong Kong communities, focusing on themes of trauma,
cultural identity, loss, and displacement, and supporting transitions into new environments.
I am based in South West London, UK, offering therapy in-person and online in English, Cantonese,
and Mandarin. Before training as an art psychotherapist, I spent over seven years designing and
facilitating art and well-being programmes in diverse schools, social care, educational, and community settings in Hong Kong. I studied Visual Arts with a minor in Psychology at the Hong Kong Baptist University, and later pursued an MA in Art Psychotherapy at the University of Roehampton in London.
My multicultural background has deeply informed my practice and sensitivity to issues of migration, belonging, and identity—experiences shared by many of the individuals I work with. I strive to offer a space where creativity, authenticity, and compassion support meaningful reflection, connection, and healing.
Taking the first step toward healing can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. Reaching out is a courageous act of self-care. Together, we can explore what feels most important to you and embark on a journey toward understanding, healing, and growth. If you’re curious about how the session will proceed, please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation or email me with any
questions.
Testimonials
“Friendly, approachable therapist who listened well to us. Good communication and follow-up via
regular emails. Kept the child’s attention and trust very well. He enjoyed the sessions, he said, playing the different games was fun, and he wanted more of the sessions.” A., Individual session
“Angel is highly thought of by other clinicians and service user consultants for her involvement in arts in health projects in the community and her thoughtful, adaptive approach to the different settings she has contributed to. Angel has used her process art practice and client work to process her thoughts about the client group and has really developed an understanding that presence and curiosity in individual work can lead to a deeper knowledge of what to offer the client than any concrete phrase or direction. Her 1:1 client’s engagement, measured by attendance and art making in session, speaks to this. “ S., supervisor
