Recognising that everyone’s journey is unique, Karissa mindfully connects with individuals using a personalised approach to nurture their creative journey towards a healthier emotional and mental wellbeing. The path and pace to self-awareness, healing and change is not a one-size-fits-all formula.
Karissa is a registered Art Psychotherapist, with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), primarily practising in the educational setting (primary, secondary and private schools) and with local boroughs’ Children’s Services. She works with children, adolescence, parents, carers and teachers, with over 15 years experience in the educational setting. Additionally, Karissa works with adults and therapy trainees in her private practice.
Karissa’s vision is to facilitate a non-judgemental, trusting space where clients tap into their own creativity and immerse in a process where they feel safe to express and unpack their thoughts and emotions. She helps clients to apply the methods and tools developed in therapy to their everyday lives, better managing overwhelming and unwanted feelings in a healthy way. She holds importance in helping clients explore and bring awareness to their multifaceted expressions, verbal and/or creative, linking its impact to their current situation.
