Personal Statement
Art Psychotherapist MA
I am a qualified Art Therapist having done a Masters in Art Psychotherapy. I am a
member of the British Association of Art Therapists and am HCPC registered. I use
a person-centered psychodynamic approach offering clients the support they need
towards self-exploration through the creative process.
I have over 10 years’ experience of working with a variety of groups of people
including those with profound and complex disabilities and additional needs, mental
health and emotional needs, and those suffering from anxiety, loss and chronic pain.
I have worked in different settings including, primary schools, hospitals, care homes
and educational centres.
I consider myself a safe practitioner. I have dealt with challenging cases that have
involved child protection issues. I’m capable of containing difficult feelings. I
consider myself a compassionate art therapist. I understand confidentiality, culture
religion and gender issues. I am always interested in new possibilities and the
chance to contribute towards the therapeutic process.
