Personal Statement
Maria Gomes, MA
Art Psychotherapist
Hello, I’m Maria a Brazilian art psychotherapist and SoulCollage® facilitator based in London. Trained in psychodynamic, integrative, and analytical approaches. I offer individual art psychotherapy sessions in London and online, alongside facilitating art therapy workshops and therapeutic groups for women.
With years of practice as a psychotherapist in Brazil, serving diverse client groups, my core specialisation centres on adult mental health, particularly focusing on women who experienced trauma, while also maintaining openness to working with a wide range of clients.
Art psychotherapy, to me, is a transformative medium that transcends traditional verbal therapy. Through the expressive use of art materials and dialogue, it unlocks profound insights and facilitates personal development on multiple levels. It’s about tapping into the innate creativity within us to navigate through life’s challenges.
In my practice, I create a non-judgmental, confidential space where everyone is welcome. No previous experience in art is necessary. I specialise in supporting individuals through life changes, providing emotional support during difficult times, and fostering personal growth. Feel free to get in touch I offer a free 15-minute intro call.
