Personal Statement
Monica Jato
Art Psychotherapist (MA)
I am a HCPC registered art psychotherapist and full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) where I am listed as a supervisor and private practitioner.
I have more than sixteen years’ experience working with adults, children and young people in different settings and within different roles.
In 2010, I completed a MA in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths Collage University of London and, I have worked as an Art Psychotherapist in the not-for-profit sector, NHS, educational settings and in private practice. Parallel to my role as an art psychotherapist, I worked as a team manager delivering therapeutic services in schools supporting children, young people and their families to overcome emotional barriers and reconnect with their potential.
I have always been interested in the idea of how past experiences can shape and influence the way we think, feel and act in day to day situations. As a result, I am passionate and committed to offer my clients a safe space and an integrative approach to accompany them in their journey to self-exploration, reflection and discovery.
