Stefanie Marsh MA UKCPPsychotherapist and Art PsychotherapistI am a qualified integrative psychotherapist and art psychotherapist, registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma (including sexual trauma), the impact of historical trauma, and complex family relationships. My approach is gentle, thoughtful, and collaborative, helping clients find a way through their difficulties at their own pace.I have a particular interest in neurodiversity (including ADHD), chronic pain, cultural identity, and the emerging neuroscience around mental health. Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a journalist for over 20 years, which gave me a deep understanding of different waysof being, workplace challenges, career transitions, and the search for authenticity and fulfilment. Outside my work as a psychotherapist, I help train rescue dogs as therapy dogs.My ApproachAs an integrative psychotherapist, I draw from both psychodynamic and humanistic theories. This flexible approach allows clients to explore their experiences in a way that feels most comfortable for them, whether that means focusing on the past or thinking about patterns thatmay be playing out in the present. Therapy can provide a supportive space for self-reflection, healing and change, and an opportunity to address the patterns that may be limiting our lives and relationships. Clients can choose to use the arts in sessions if this feels helpful.Creativity in TherapyAs a former professional writer, I have witnessed the power of creativity in non-verbal processing and communication. Using the arts alongside psychotherapy enables us to harness active imagination, symbolism, and metaphor as a way of accessing the unconscious andbringing about meaningful change. Art-making in therapy sessions can also in itself be immensely soothing. Equally, some clients find it more useful just to talk.My ServicesI offer private one-to-one and group sessions in Chiswick and Islington, London, as well as online therapy. Sessions can be time-limited or open-ended, depending on individual needs. If you would like to explore how therapy might support you, please feel free to get in touch. I also offer a free 15-minute online consultation.stefaniemarshtherapy@gmail.com
